Dear Valued Fundraisers,
We concluded the financial year 2023-24 with a donation receipt of nearly £60,000, which would not have been possible without your generous contributions and support. On behalf of EGFR Positive UK, I wish to express our deepest gratitude for your vital role in helping to raise this amount to fund our varied activities.
We wanted to take this opportunity to formalise our fundraising policy to introduce structure and ensure transparency and accountability in our efforts. Our charity follows a strict fundraising protocol to maintain integrity and uphold the trust that you, our donors, have placed in us. Here are the key elements of our fundraising policy:
Use of Fundraising Platforms
We use registered fundraising platforms to raise funds for our charitable initiatives. These platforms provide a secure and efficient way for individuals like you to contribute to our cause. By leveraging these platforms, we can reach a broader audience and maximise the impact of your donations. Additionally, we are now registered for Gift Aid, meaning an additional 25% can be claimed from HMRC. We currently use JustGiving (who are also our Gift Aid agents) and request that you use this platform for your future campaigns. However, if you have a preferred fundraising platform, please provide us with the name and website reference so that we can ensure we are registered there for Gift Aid.
Prior Approval Process
To ensure that we are aware of ongoing fundraising activities, we ask that you inform us of your proposal. This can be done by sending an email to our Marketing Trustee (email: marketing@egfrpositive.org.uk) cc: Treasurer (email: finance@egfrpositive.org.uk) with brief details of the fundraiser, target amount, period of activity, and chosen fundraising platform. This will give us the opportunity to track progress and celebrate your achievements on social media.
Reporting and Transparency
Once a fundraising campaign is successfully completed, please inform us of the campaign's closure. Based on that information, we will make it a priority to inform our donors and members about the outcome and how the funds will be used. This transparency is essential for building and maintaining trust with you and other valued donors.
Your continuous support enables us to carry out our vital work and create a lasting impact in the lives of those affected by EGFR-positive lung cancer. We are incredibly grateful for your commitment to our cause and assure you that your contributions will be used with the utmost care and responsibility.
Once again, thank you for your generosity and for being an integral part of our mission.
Together, we can make a difference.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Angela Terry
