Fundraising ….. by Daniel Ramsell
A huge Thank You to Daniel and his Pentesec colleagues who pushed themselves to new limits to support EGFR + lung cancer.
Pentesec ( a Cyber security organisation) recently took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, an incredibly tough adventure that held special significance for me as a member of the team of 11. I embarked on this physical and mental test with a personal connection to the cause.
My mother-in-law (Angela Terry) is living with EGFR-positive lung cancer, which gave me a deeply personal link to the charity we were supporting. The challenge became more than just a physical feat; it became a way for me to raise awareness and funds for a cause close to my heart. It was a chance to channel my determination and energy into making a difference for EGFR+ patients.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge proved to be the most physically demanding experience of my life. Despite the physical demands, it was incredibly rewarding. It fostered a profound sense of accomplishment and self-belief. Although I did absolutely no training for the challenge (something I massively regretted following the event), my stubbornness, grit, and drive to do well for the charity got me through. Each step we took was fuelled by the knowledge that we were not only pushing ourselves to new limits but also making a tangible impact on the lives of those affected by EGFR-positive lung cancer.
The weather smiled upon us as we tackled the Yorkshire Three Peaks. The breath-taking landscapes and rugged terrain served as a backdrop to our shared journey. Each step we took was fuelled by the knowledge that we were not only pushing ourselves to new limits but also making a tangible impact on the lives of those affected by EGFR-positive lung cancer. On our journey through the Three Peaks, we were able to raise £1,188 for the charity, and I am incredibly grateful for the amazing support we received from our donors.
