Helen Brazier's Fundraiser to Honour Her Mum, Lizzi

One thing I know I shared with my mum, Lizzi Brazier, was the desire to help others. I decided to do a fundraiser in her memory.

In April last year, I lost the most incredible woman—my mum. She was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to helping others and getting involved wherever she could.

My mum fought a diagnosis of stage 4 EGFR+ lung cancer from spring 2019. She spent her time with this diagnosis fighting the cancer and exploring every possible avenue. We hoped for so long for a positive outcome, but sadly, she passed away last April. My family and I are devastated. We think of her in everything we do, and I will never forget that smile.

Mum was always encouraging me to go to the hairdressers (as I never went) as of today I have had cut 18 inches off my hair which has been donated to the Little Princess Trust and raised for EGFR+ UK a massive total of £1,125 (my target was £500!).

This past year has been really tough on our whole family, but knowing I could help in some way through this fundraiser makes me feel that Mum would be so proud. I’m so happy I could support this charity in memory of my most admired person—my mum.
