Trustee Richard Warren Steps Down

Richard has been involved with EGFR+ UK from the very beginning and became a Trustee when the Charity achieved charitable status in April 2020. His professional experience and personal style and skills have ensured the Board stayed true to the vision and passion of our Founders’, Jenny and Kathy. We are delighted that Richard is not leaving us completely but has decided to continue his involvement in a less formal way. We look forward to continuing our work together as the Charity develops further and wish Richard and his family success and happiness.

A Message from Richard

I will be stepping down as a day-to-day trustee of the charity, but will stay involved on a consultancy basis, helping where I can. My late wife, Jenny Abbott, together with Kathy Beattie, set up first a Facebook Group and then a charity in 2019 and 2020, as there was no UK equivalent to EGFR Resisters in the US. I was a trustee right from the beginning, and couldn’t be prouder of the state of the charity and group now. It has, under Angela and the other trustees’ leadership, become scaled, secure and stable delivering on its promise of supporting EGFR Positive patients, their caregivers and families; providing and contributing to thought leadership, marketing and research programmes both in its own right and in partnerships with other aligned charities; and, finally, raising funds on an ongoing basis to allow us to do more of the above.

I have started a new job as Director of Marketing of Nationwide Building Society, and am a proud father to my three now older children, Grace, George and Gabriel. I will stay in touch, and attend face to face events, and wish you all every success.
